With tension rising in the Asian region and Joe Biden’s request for $44 billion
for defense-related programs, new opportunities are emerging for defense contractors.
The U.S. Army gave Lockheed Martin a long-standing contract for JAGM’s (Joint-Air-to Ground Missiles) and HELLFIRE Missles. This is worth $439 million to the company for the first year.
UK Ministry of Defense
The U.K. today awarded Lockheed Martin and BAE Systems a maintenance contract for F-35 fighter jets.
The contract is worth 161 million pounds, or about $200 million.
Furthermore, the order will create approximately 140 new jobs in the kingdom.
Charttechnical
With the announcement of the news, a clear buying impulse since the beginning of the week
of shares arose. The last relevant high at approx. $499
is just above the current price level.
With sustained momentum, this could be broken.
However, if the round $500 mark represents a strong resistance, a price decline to around $450 could take place.
