The German stock index fell back very significantly today. After a strong start with a high for the day at 16,006 points, the DAX quickly fell again rapidly from midday onwards, peaking at almost 250 points.
At the end of the day, the German benchmark index closed at 15,833 points, down 0.33 percent. Only with difficulty was the index able to at least maintain the technical support level of 15,800 points in late trading; the low for the day was 15,761 points.
All other German indices and the European selection index Euro Stoxx 50 also closed in the red. The MDAX lost 0.87 percent to 35,952 points. There were also price losses on the bond market, where German government bonds were sold.
